Residential Interior Design

This is a renovation of a large 90s suburban home. The client’s brief was to update and reconfigure the home so spaces would flow to suit their lifestyle requirements. They wanted a total transformation of the home’s interiors and exteriors to reflect the grandeur of the stately American houses they had admired.

From the moment you walk through the portico and grand black door, the wow factor impresses and continues into the foyer. Being a double-height space, it was important to be bold so we commissioned celebrated artist Kerry Armstrong to create a statement artwork for this area; the stunning piece is paired with elegant furniture to create a special moment on entry. This continues to set the tone for the rest of the home.

A big part of this family’s life is entertaining family and friends, so it was important to have spaces that allowed them to do that, while also having intimate areas to unwind. The internal living rooms allow for both activities and open off the kitchen, the heart of this home. Also leading off the kitchen is the main entertaining space, as well as the pool deck and cabana, which is complete with its own kitchen. Separate to this is the poolhouse; a fun, entertaining space as well as a games room for the two girls, complete with a customised graffiti mural completed by the client
