Residential Interior Decoration

Located in the inner-city suburb of Coorparoo, this gabled Queenslander was a renovation project for a Brisbane family with four growing boys. The brief included adding contemporary forms, shapes and clean lines into the space, while incorporating some mild mid-century detailing. Herringbone-laid Carrara marble was used throughout the kitchen, spilling through to the living space, where it’s accented by Tasmanian oak detailing. CG Design Studio took a different design approach here, including furniture-like detailing intersecting with sculptural forms. For example, the kitchen bench and TV stand have solid marble finishes. Note how feature tiles were used throughout the home for an overlaying decorative effect.
