With the New Year in sight, we have put together the 3 top kitchen trends we predict to be big in 2020…

1. The New Classic
The Shaker style kitchen has been popular for some years now, and for good reason its classic lines often crisp white palette is timeless and well suited to the classic Queenslander. In 2020 this style continues to be popular, but we will see it mixed with more streamlined cabinetry, straight lines, minimal handles and contemporary fittings. Creating a new classic that is adaptable to both classic and contemporary interiors...

1. It's Only Natural
Going Natural has been a popular lifestyle choice which is becoming part of our daily lives and we are now wanting our homes to reflect this. We have seen Natural fabrics and fibres have a resurgence one of our favourites being rattan.
We have fallen in love with rattan and wicker furniture all over again and the natural material teamed with timber, travertine, terracotta and brass is a big trend we are going to see more of. Equally natural stone benchtops like travertine and limestone are making a big comeback, although more porous than man made options the patina, they develop over time suits this relaxed earthy trend.

1. Merging Spaces
When planning your kitchen in 2020 think about more than open plan with a butler’s pantry to the side. We are going to see the open plan trend go a step further. With kitchens becoming more furniture like and integrated with our living cabinetry and our living spaces becoming more part of the kitchen. Seating nooks, sunken lounges and interior gardens all merging into one communal zone.
